Hosting change and other sad news

It is a good idea to share all news when they appear, not just the good ones.

First, I would like to announce that after making a decision to consolidate all our domains at one hosting provider, we lost almost all the content of the old site. This is not as bad as it sounds, because site needed a complete overhaul anyway. But as a consequence, we cannot widely share links to our site because until some contents appears on it, it is not really ready for the prime time.

On a related note, after my moving to Spain this February, the company is currently suffering a financial vaccuum, when customers in Estonia are already too far away for fruitful cooperation, and new customers here in Spain are still yet to be found. But we keep optimism and planning to diversify our mission but choose a more clear focus for nearest future action. We all know that lack of concentration can kill any good idea, so we get a time-out in managing old project and (currently) unrealistic development program, until we realize what development plan would be feasible.

Our daughter non-profit company

Even before we start posting about great things that we will deliver to the world, we want to inform you about birth of another company, which will deal with our linguistical efforts.
Recently, I became an adept of planned languages - at first from curiosity. After some months I was hooked by the beauty of this noble idea to provide a politically neutral and easy to learn international language, and finally, I came to conclusion that planned (or auxiliary, how they are sometimes called) are actually heavily-underused instrument for learning other languages.
To fix this, we decided that all things linguistical will be managed through new company, which would be non-profit to emphasize its mission to popularize language learning and intercultural communication).
And this company was finally founded - please meet "MTÜ Keelteoskuse keskus". This company is in the stealth mode and does not even have a web site yet, but we are busy with presentation of our "course of foreign languages" to schools and other non-profit organizations, as they are the first obvious target audience for us.
After we cover the most active part of the population, we will broaden our scope to include older and/or less active people into our audience, develop interactive learning sites and start more initiatives for promoting languages. Barcodexana OÜ then will focus more on IT solutions and travel services.

Who we are

Barcodexana OÜ is a small company registered in Estonia. We don't even have our real office. We are here to bridge the gap between people and technologies. We are here to make more sites with social dimensions. We are here to promote some things we personally like. We are not looking for an opportunity to save the world, but we are believing it's possible to make it better one site at a time. This is our company blog - and we are creating it on Blogger.com on purpose. We want to promote good products, so that's why we don't need to make just another blog engine when we can reuse something ready-made and reliable. We would probably enjoy a bit larger audience using some well-known blogging engine. We have big plans for 2009, and we will inform you in this blog about reaching our goals.
